The Roots Reggaement is an Austrian backing band for reggae, dub and dancehall artists.

Founded as Kaya Roots Band in Vienna in 2019, the band quickly established itself in the regional reggae scene and as a support act for world greats such as Anthony B, Israel Vibration & Roots Radics, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Skatalites, Stranger Cole and Meta & The Cornerstones.

Their first studio release was a tribute to Jamaican singer Tabby Diamond, who passed away a few weeks before the instrumental recordings for "Jah Bless The Rastaman" in 2022. The Single is a remake of a Mighty Diamonds classic riddim and was released by AnotherOne Productions in an international collaboration with Ray Isaacs, Gregory Isaacs’ nephew, and A-Lone Ark Studios in Summer 2023.

At the same time, the band had broken up, but without ever stopping the music. With a new band name and a new drum & bass section, The Roots Reggaement immediately returned to stage as a live backing band for Jamaican singer Norris Man, UK-Artist Sparky Rugged, I Jahson from Zimbabwe and Kenyan Artist Kitole Kenda within a few weeks.

»Dub, Roots, Rockers, Ragga, Dancehall and other subgenres of Reggae music are merged into an instant sparkle of decent power.«
